Five photos for an honest estimate (and why the AI preview is not your result)
Oct 14, 2026 · 1 min read
Light, angle and sharpness change what a photo shows. How to take the five photos for the AI analysis, and what the AI preview is — and is not.
What the video says
Your bathroom light is lying about your hairline. Angle, light and sharpness all change what a photo shows. For a fair estimate: five photos, daylight, dry hair, no filter. Even then, it's a range. A surgeon confirms the real number.
What the video says
This is not your result. Here's what it is. One photo, and the AI draws how your hair could look. It's an illustration, not a promise. It helps you decide whether to talk to a clinic. A surgeon decides what's possible.
Your bathroom light is lying about your hairline. Light from above, a wide-angle phone lens and wet hair can all make hair look thinner or thicker than it is. A fair estimate starts with fair photos.
The five photos
- Front — hairline level with the camera.
- Top — looking straight down.
- Left and right — one shot each, at the same distance.
- Back of the head — your donor area. It matters most.
Take them in daylight, with dry hair and no filter. If a photo is blurred or washed out, retake it. It takes about two minutes on your phone.
What the analysis gives you
The AI analysis estimates your Norwood stage, donor density and a graft range. Even with good photos, the result is a range. A surgeon confirms the real number after examining you.
What the AI preview is
The AI preview is different: from one photo, the AI draws how your hair could look. It needs no account.
It is an illustration, not a promise. It helps you decide whether it is worth talking to a clinic. What is actually possible for your hair is decided by a surgeon.
Your photos are used only for the preview and the analysis. They are not sold and not used for advertising, reach a clinic only after you send a request, and are deleted on request. Details are in the privacy policy.
